2026 Redstone Plein Air Festival

2026 Redstone Plein Air Festival

From Monday, June 22, to Sunday, June 28, Plein Artists will gather in Redstone, Colorado, to paint the beautiful Crystal River Valley.

Public art demonstrations, artist discussion, quick draw painting contest, awards, live music, and more in Redstone! Artists work en plein air (outdoors from life) throughout Redstone, Marble and the surrounding Crystal River valley. Visitors are warmly welcome to observe painters at work, ask questions, and watch the landscape translate to panel and canvas in real time. Drop in to Joy & Wylde to see live painting demonstrations daily. All work will be on display and sale at the Redstone Gallery at Joy and Wylde from June 26th - 28th.

We are excited to welcome Pitkin County Healthy Rivers as a major sponsor of this year's plein air festival. They will be presenting the "Healthy Rivers" award for the best painting of the Crystal River. Thank you also to Hailie Mickley, State Farm and Jamie Maybon, Coldwell Banker Mason Morse for also sponsoring this year's plein air festival.

This year's guest judge is acclaimed Colorado artist Anna Rose Bain. Anna Rose Bain (b. 1985) is a Colorado-based fine art oil painter known for her luminous portraits and evocative figurative works that celebrate the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her paintings often depict people in moments of peace and wonder—especially women and children—and she portrays each subject with honesty, sensitivity, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of everyday life.

Anna is a Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America and a Signature Faculty Member of the Portrait Society of America, as well as a member of the California Art Club and Plein Air Artists of Colorado. Anna won the Best of Show in the 2025 Plein Air Artists of Colorado annual exhibition and recently won Best of Show in the 2026 Colorado Governor's Art Show.
